BECAUSE a major responsibility of an educational system is to encourage students to study issues with scrutiny and to judge the veracity of those issues, and
BECAUSE scrutiny requires access to all viewpoints of an issue, and
BECAUSE scrutiny also requires facts to be identified, analyzed and evaluated, and
BECAUSE scrutiny requires identifying emotional arguments and recognizing them as invalid tools for critical thinking,
THEREFORE school curriculums are required to include the teaching of critical-thinking skills in all basic curriculum areas.
